The Truth: Too Faced Primed & Peachy

I was really hesitant about writing this post. For a while now, I’ve thought about writing reviews on products, but I’ve been fighting about it internally. I truly LOVE all makeup brands, there’s NOT ONE brand that I despise, and I really didn’t want a bad review to come off to any of my readers that the brand sucks. NO! Not at all!

But, as you may know, beauty products don’t always turn out as advertised… and it really IS a bummer.

Anyway, this reasoning has led me to only writing posts about products that I love or use all the time. But, I’ve come to realize that I REALLY enjoy reading negative reviews as well. I think there is so much to learn in the experiences of others.

I’ve decided to name all my reviews of products from now on “The Truth”.

So here I go– My very first review-

Well let me just rewind to 3 weeks ago…

I LOVE Too Faced, their bronzer is a must have of mine, and I’ve always loved their Chocolate Palettes! So, when they launched the Peaches & Cream Collection, I was excited about it!

What really stood out to me was the Primed & Peachy primer, I am always down for a new primer (anything that I can help make my skin look flawless, Hello!)

Here’s what the product claims:

“A cooling, mattifying primer that blurs, smooths, and brightens the complexion.”

What it does:
Infused with exclusive comfort matte technology, this Primed & Peachy formula delivers a mattifying, soft-focused finish with lightweight, comfortable wear.

✔ Offers up to 12 hours of shine control
✔ Lasts up to 16 hours
✔ Smells like peaches and cream

Well my first impression? WOW, WOW, WOW! SOOO GOOD.

My foundation lasted all day! My pores were GONE. And my face looked flawless.

✔ Check off the box that says 12 hours of shine control
✔ Check off the box that says it lasts for hours and hours
✔ The scent was there– but it wasn’t crazy in your face like their Too Faced Chocolate Collection where you dip your brush into the palette or bronzer and you want to eat the product. This was VERY, VERY subtle.

Great right?

Well, let’s go into week 2 — when I had been using the primer everyday. Well, let’s just say, it wasn’t a happily ever after.

I started seeing break outs… Little tiny red bumps started forming on the side of my forehead, and on my chin. I was so confused… I started blaming my hormones, started blaming stress.

When I told a friend of mine that my hormones were leading to a random breakout, she responded by asking me if I had been trying or using anything new on my face… at first I thought ‘No Way!’… This primer was too perfect! It COULDN’T be…

So, I decided it was worth a try, and I put the primer aside for week 3.

HA, well the culprit my friends… was in this tiny bottle.

I LOVED this primer…

But although it was good, it was not worth the amount of breakouts and tiny red bumps I was getting. So, back to the makeup drawer it goes.

So… here’s my honest review- I think if you don’t have acne prone skin, this primer is definitely worth a shot… I mean the finish was gorgeous, and I was so happy for the first week!

But, unfortunately for me, this primer is a no-go.
