I’ll be the first to admit that my nails have always been weak. I can never grow them out because it’s only a matter of time before it breaks, chips or just looking like an absolute hot mess!
Getting my nails done every other week use to be a thing for me… until I decided that my money could be better spent on other things. So, when I see a new polish, I enjoy giving it the benefit of the doubt and giving it a test to see how well it works on these stubborn nails.
I’ve always enjoyed OPI, ChinaGlaze, and Essie polishes, BUT they never lasted? Does anyone else have this problem? I kid you not, half a day later my nails are chipped and I look like I’m a 12 year old girl again. SO, I just haven’t gotten my nails done. I don’t pay to get them done. I don’t paint them myself. I just rock the good ol’ bare naked nails.
Not too long ago, I noticed that Essie came out with some new polishes… I thought it was just the packaging that had changed, but I didn’t realize at the time, it actually was a gel polish. I’ve tried gel polishes before (ie. Sally Hansen)… that was nothing worth talking about…
So last week, I took home with me one of these new polishes and decided to put it to the test. They retail for around $12 ea. at Walmart. It is recommended that you do 2 separate steps, a base coat followed by a top coat. However, I actually didn’t purchase the top coat… I wanted to truly put the polish itself to the test.
I am so pleasantly surprised! I’ve had a couple people ask me if I got my nails done. Even without the top coat, the polish is shiny enough to make it look like a professional job. The best part is the polish has lasted me 7 days. If I wanted to, I could have kept it for longer… WHICH IS COMPLETELY UNHEARD OF FOR MY NAILS! WOW. I am still shook. It’s SO good!
The colour selection, not surprisingly, offers a wide range of shades! I will defiantly be heading back and purchasing a couple more shades! Have you guys tried any other gel polishes that you love? Let me know in the comments below 🙂
